From Castelmola we started back down until we reached the Village of Taomina - here we were give a couple of hours of free time to explore on our own. Having visited Taomina before we avoided the big climb to the Greek Theatre but instead spent the time discovering what else it has to offer…. Mainly shops 😊
There is one main pedestrian street that is booked ended by two stone archways. Charming narrow lanes ways shoot off from either side like spider legs, beckoning "come and explore me" But what you can't resist are the windows stacked with Cannoli's which are fried pastry shell filled with a delicious ricotta cream.
