46c Transiting the Panama Canal

Eventually we reached the Pedro Miguel Lock which marks the start of our
descent back down to sea level. Made up of one lock we stepped down just
over 30ft. It is a funny feeling sailing past light fittings that are so
close you could reach out and touch them, and then the feeling of shrinking
as the ship lowers and the lamps seem to soar higher into the sky.
