It was just a short stroll over to the main Historic square in Lima, Plaza Mayor. Lined with some of the city’s most important buildings, including The Presidential Palace. There are two distinct features that make all government buildings recognisable. First, they are painted yellow, the colour of the Lima flag. A lot of buildings that have been restored in Lima no longer boast their original colour of white, they have been painted bright colours to contrast against their constant grey skies. Secondly the Peruvian flag that flies upon a government building has the countries coat of arms printed on the centre white band, where the country’s flag doesn’t.
