Another wonderful surprise was the Earls Garden. We strolled through the
beautifully landscaped grounds, through each gate or arch there was always a
picture perfect scene. According to my brochure the garden is a tribute to
Thomas Howard (circa 1585 - 1646) also known as the "Collector Earl".
The garden was filled with little surprises, pagoda's and obelisks that from
a distance looked as though they were carved from stone, but actually made
from weathered oak. Mesmerising water features, some so grand others
magically unique with a floating crown.
