The port of Halifax ended up being a change that occurred just after we
boarded in Sydney. The reason having to do with restrictions to the ships
speed within the strait that lead to our original port of Charlottetown.
Having visited Halifax only 12 months earlier, today we decided to make our
main focus the Halifax Citadel.
This year's sail in was much more pleasant seeing we didn't have the rain to
contend with again. After leaving the port we grabbed a map and we were on
our way. Halifax is another one of those well serviced ports, with tours
available once you disembark the ship.
I did a quick side step into the produce market and snapped up a blueberry
scone to nibble on while we were on our way. We made our way up to the
Citadel taking in a few sights along the way. Through the city it is a
gentle climb, but to get right up to the front gate we were faced with a
steep set of stairs to get us to the top.
