The next stop was the Canyon at Sainte Anne. Here we could walk a trail
around the canyon that circles the spectacular 74m high waterfall. We
crossed suspension bridges and walked out on to lookouts that gave us the
best vantage points. Below we could see those more game than us scaling the
rocky cliffs for more of an adventure. Maybe too much of an adventure,
because just as we got half way round the heavens opened, and they opened
hard. Scurrying to nearby shelter we were able to keep ourselves dry. As
the rain teamed down, all we could think of were those who were now probably
hanging onto the rocks for dear life. Staff did go racing out to ensure all
those caught were tethered to the cables that were attached to the cliff
face.
Time was ticking, and the rain still poured down, and as if Saint Anne
herself had appeared, our guide showed up with an umbrella. One umbrella
only you may ask, but don't worry she brought a covered buggy with her.
Safely, but not totally dry we climbed back into our rescue vehicle.
